Academics
Since its establishment, in 1848, and throughout its many years of history, ETSAM has constantly relied upon the work, teaching and academic publications of architects of the highest profile. Their professors are molding a future generation of architects among whom are, as well, all the interchange students. Our Institution has been adapting its study programs to the requirements of a modern society in constant evolution.

Exchange students may enroll in courses in architecture and Spanish as a second language.
Location
ETSAM is the school of architecture of the Technical University of Madrid (UPM), Spain.. The present building was constructed in 1936 and has a library which holds a great collection of historical architectural volumes and the last magazines of architecture, the most influential books of modern architecture. ETSAM is considered by many professionals of the sector as the best in Spain as well as one of the best in the world.

Madrid, Spain’s capital, is a city of great political and cultural importance. Though Madrid has a modern infrastructure, it has retained the look and feel of many of its historic neighborhoods and streets.

The city's population is roughly 3.2 million, while the estimated urban area population is 5.1 million.

Housing Information
For the first few weeks in Madrid, ETSAM recommends that students stay in a hostel of their recommendation (please see link below to the ETSAM Guide for exchange students).

Cost Information: this is an exchange program with fees based on UA tuition and registration fees. Fees do not include housing, meals, or transportation.
International health insurance is required for the period of study. Students must have a current, valid U.S. passport. At the end of the semester, ETSAM will send your academic transcript to the UA Office of Study Abroad and Student Exchange.
